Please join us in hearing Fr. John Dear speak on his new book THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, followed by the presentation of the 2023 Tom Webb Memorial Peacemaker of the Year Awardee, Therese Mughannam Walrath.
The Gospel of Peace is the first ever commentary on the synoptic gospels from the perspective of active nonviolence. John Dear has been working for justice and disarmament and teaching peace and nonviolence for over four decades. The author of forty books, he has served as the director of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the largest interfaith peace group in the nation; He has traveled in war zones and spoken to audiences around the world.
He is executive director of www.beatitudescenter.org where he offers online programs on peace and justice. He was nominated many times for the Nobel Peace Prize, including by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Therese Mughannam Walrath is an award-winning peace activist, born in Jerusalem. She works tirelessly for peace and justice everywhere, including her native people of Palestine. She speaks out not only for Palestinians but also for Indigenous peoples and others who face oppression.
